EDUCATION
Happy is a key to success.
I am Aviva Tu, a native of Taiwan. I studied music in China from 2002 to 2009, in Taiwan from 2010 to 2017, And came to Chicago in 2017 for a performance diploma.. I have been living with different cultures since I was a little girl. I always like to observe and recognize the differences between the cultures but mostly learned that everyone is unique.
I have a lot of interests but my passion is music.I like to share music and I especially like teaching it. I started teaching in 2010 with experience in violin group classes, violin and piano private lessons and online lessons. Here are some differences between the regular music school and Happy Tu Studio.
1. I take care of everyone like family. I truly understand the importance of family. I like to spread my love to everyone I get to know.
2. I believe everyone is different. I use different methods (audio, visual, kinesthetic, imagination and a lot of fun) to help you learn.Relating your own life experiences to help understand the music is very effective.
3. Classical music teaches us patience. I grew up in music all my life, I understand the process. I will walk you through the process.
4. “Happy” is a key to success. Once you master happy learning, your life will be fulfilled by learning different things. Learning new skills makes you smarter with long lasting rewards.
5. I will fully develop your hearing, playing, comprehensive understanding, movement with the music, and build up your potential.
6. Music is your mental doctor. When I was young, my mom always said, I want you to learn music so you can have something to talk to. Starting from six grade I was very quiet. You know Asian culture has lots of rules so I didn’t like to talk because I was afraid of offending someone. So playing the violin was my escape and comfort. Music can be your best friend. When the COVID hit I got my first baby grand and that gave me the opportunity to read and explore a lot of new music. It is like reading a story, but with the music. I never regret that I keep a musical life. Music can make you happy, but also make people happy when you play music for them.
Finding your passion changes everything.
